Eastern Warks

LSS AQS 209, Waiting list 202+. Lowest score offered = 206
RHS AQS 203, Waiting list 198. Lowest score offered = 198
Ashlawn Selective AQS 202. Waiting list 196+. Lowest score offered = 202

Yet again the offers were made outside the priority area at LSS and RHS.

KES AQS 227 Waiting list 220+. Lowest score offered = 226
SGSG AQS 216 Waiting list 210+. Lowest score offered = 215
AGS AQS 214 Waiting list 209+. Lowest score offered = 213

Yet again scores required for schools in Eastern Warks are substantially lower that the Southern area.
Southern Warks.

? Why & why do Eastern Grammar schools set a lower AQS than the south. Some very clever children go to LSS and RHS. I personally think that WCC should set the same AQS for the schools rather than the school itself. This would make it a level playing field for parents rather than everyone looking at getting their children into K.E.S and SGS. I would love for my boys to have gone to K.E.S but one of my boys got in via appeal and scored average and the other scored well and would of been on the KES waiting list. If KES had set the same as LSS then both would of had places at KES.

Children in Rugby score lower marks than the Southern area. LSS cannot fill it places locally. The scores will never be the same. K.E.S. has a large priority area and takes the cream. It is a smaller school (81+3) places compared to 120 at LSS. The top 81 places at KES are much higher than the top 81 at LSS.

Rugby is a deprives area, the outer area is richer. Stratford is affluent - a different socio-economic group.

Rugby at Stratford are far away. It is not practical for children in Rugby to travel to Stratford and visa versa.

They are seperate schools in a seperate area.
