Are any 11+ tests resistant to preparation? Probably not, so it is advisable to ensure children are ready for the challenge ahead.

There is a wealth of free material available on the internet and year 6 SATs papers are useful for preparation. Parents can prepare children themselves. Free familiarisation papers are available at
http://www.11plus.eu.

For those who want to prepare at home using online systems, two ideal solutions are: http://www.WordBuilder.co.uk for verbal reasoning and http://www.CoolCleverKids.co.uk for maths. These can be used instead of a tutor or in conjunction with a tutor.
